Assessment of the existing models to evaluate the shear strength contribution of externally bonded frp shear reinforcements

This paper presents an analysis of the performance different existing formulations to quantify FRP contribution shear strength RC elements strengthened in by externally bonded sheets. A large database 555 tests has been assembled distinguishing between shape section, existence internal transverse reinforcement and configurations. In general, predictions are more conservative for beams without reinforcement. addition, some cases unsafe with reinforcement, showing a possible interaction which is not considered experimental strength. For wrapped configurations, models generally assumed failure at bottom corner section results very where was experimentally observed along web.
